Why experience life through fictional characters if they don’t fulfill our desires? I could come up with some examples, but I don’t want to. Recently, shows like Bridgerton, Normal People, The White Lotus, and Interview With the Vampire have provided us with entertaining, sensual content. They have been a great escape, especially since romantic comedies and movies with good sexual scenes have become scarce. To keep the excitement going, here is a list of the most sensual TV shows to watch in 2023.

I’ll be straightforward: There aren’t many options available at the moment. Perhaps Loki season 2 will suffice, but while the Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of attractive characters, they are not often shown engaging in explicit content. Where is the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s work? Where is the provocative HBO limited series? In 2023, we need more enticing television. Below is a list of what is currently available. (The positive aspect is that most of these shows will be released during the first half of the year, providing entertainment during the remaining cold months!)

1. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches

Sexy!!!! Witches!!!! From the people who brought you Interview With the Vampire! Bless.

2. The Company You Keep
Release date: February 19
This series will be airing on ABC, so there may not be a lot of nudity. (However, let’s not forget that Grey’s Anatomy can also be considered sensual.) The show stars Milo Ventimiglia as a con artist who has a one-night stand with a CIA agent played by Catherine Haena Kim. This premise has all the makings of a steamy romantic novel.
3. Daisy Jones and the Six
Release date: March 2
I am assuming this Amazon Prime Video show featuring attractive characters and set in the world of rock and roll during a sensual era will be sensual, to be honest.
4. Shadow and Bone Season 2
Release date: March 16
This show, which will be returning for its second season on Netflix, is for those who enjoy the “will they/won’t they” trope. If the most exciting thing to you is becoming emotionally invested and eagerly rooting for two characters to finally kiss, then this show is perfect for you. Don’t let the fantasy element discourage you, it is no more complex than Game of Thrones.
5. Sanditon Season 3
Release date: March 19
This period romance, based in part on Jane Austen’s unfinished novel by the same name, isn’t nearly as scandalous as Bridgerton, but it’s not afraid to go there from time to time. At the very least, you can get your fill of longing looks and rolled-up sleeves. Never underestimate the power of bare forearms.
6. Outlander Season 7
Release date: Summer 2023
Yep, this steamy show is still kicking.
7. The Idol
Release date: TBD 2023
Yes to whatever this is, please.
8. Bridgerton Season 3
Release date: TBD 2023
The third season of the popular Shondaland romance series on Netflix will focus on Penelope solidifying her relationship with Colin, but will also include ample Kanthony content. Unfortunately, the release date has not been announced yet.

9. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story
Release date: TBD 2023
In addition to more episodes of Bridgerton, we will also be getting a retro-style series that explores the love story between Queen Charlotte and King George III. History enthusiasts, this is the same King George who the United States fought against during the Revolutionary War and was made more popular by Jonathan Groff’s portrayal in the original Broadway cast of Hamilton. I am not sure if I am prepared to see him in a sensual role, but I suppose it will happen.

10. Ripley
Release date: TBD 2023
Showtime is being highly secretive about its upcoming series based on The Talented Mr. Ripley and other books by Patricia Highsmith, starring Andrew Scott, Johnny Flynn, and Dakota Fanning. I wish they would provide at least a small preview!
