Newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Friday announced that more than 10,000 policemen will be recruited in the UP Police under the 100-day Lakshya Yojana. He has directed the police to finalize a targeted action plan, including the recruitment of 10,000 police personnel against the vacancies. Apart from this, Mission Shakti will also be launched today (April 2).
Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi said that out of the total 5,381 posts, 86 are gazetted and 5,295 non-gazetted posts.
With the beginning of the second innings of the Yogi Adityanath government, the Chief Minister is holding review meetings of various departments and issuing necessary instructions to further strengthen the governance.
According to an official statement, the Chief Minister has also directed that from the first day of Navratri (Saturday), the police department should conduct special drives for the safety of girls and activate Anti Romeo squads near schools and colleges. ,
Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Awasthi said that in compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, new posts are also being sanctioned to ensure availability of manpower as per the requirement in the police force and to improve the police administration.

The ‘anti-Romeo’ squads were formed soon after Yogi Adityanath took over as chief minister in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, fulfilling the BJP’s election promise of ‘protecting the honor of women’ after the party came to power. .
