Last week, Apple started shipping iOS 15 to iPhone owners. The latest features with Focus mode and SharePlay are available on the iPhone 6s and later with the new OS. However, the new software version includes a number of hidden capabilities that can help you work more efficiently. Among them are font size, voice memo playback speed and other features for specific programs. Take a look at these five cool features.
Resize fonts for individual apps: For a long time, the Apple Paul iPhone has allowed users to adjust the text size for improved readability. On the other hand, changes to iOS are universal, meaning they affect all iPhone apps. Apple Now allows users to customize the font size of specific apps. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the Control Center, then look for the ‘AA’ icon. Resize the font and save the settings by clicking on the name of the app on the left. Learn how to add shortcuts to Control Center.
Copy-paste text directly: Apple’s iOS 15 has introduced a new feature called “Live Text” in the camera app. It works just like Google Lens on Android phones. Users should use the camera app to point to a message or number and wait for a new live text icon to appear. Users can then copy text or make phone calls if they point to a phone number. To enable live text for all supported languages, go to Settings> General> Languages and regions> Enable live text. Unfortunately, this feature is only compatible with iOS 15 on iPhone Xs, iPhone XR and newer models.
Record app activity: Apple is pushing for consumer privacy rights and iOS 15 is trying to keep that promise. The new OS includes a feature called ‘Record App Activity’, which allows users to see which apps are accessing personal information such as their location, photos, camera, microphone and more. It also keeps track of domains associated with apps. To use the feature, scroll down to Settings> Privacy> and select Record app activity.
Safari Address Bar Placement: The position of the URL or address bar in the Safari browser is one of the most visible changes in iOS 15. Swipe gestures are now possible because of the placement of the bar at the bottom of the screen (enabled by default). Apple’s Safari browser now has “Tab Group” and “Voice Search”. Despite the fact that these new improvements are aimed at increasing productivity, Apple Paul allows customers to go back to the previous method. Open Safari on iOS 15 and navigate to any webpage to improve the location of the URL or address bar. Select ‘Show top address bar’ from ‘Aa’ at the bottom left of the screen.
Voice memo playback: Apple’s original device voice memo for recording audio samples has also been updated. With iOS 15, users can now make changes to the speed at which voice memos are played, either speeding up or slowing down the recording. Another notable improvement is that the voice memo will now analyze audio recordings and will automatically go through silent distances with a simple tap of the “Skip Silence” button. To access new features, click the Settings button below the audio clip (located in the left corner).
