Former England striker and Arsenal fan Darren Bent said he would not replace the “perfect” Martin Ødegaard with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.
Norway’s Odegor is enjoying an impressive season for the Gunners, scoring five goals and three assists in the Premier League to help Arsenal make it into the top four.
Bent praises Odegor a lot, claiming that Manchester United’s influential midfielder Fernandez will not replace Arsenal’s 23-year-old.
27-year-old Fernandez has scored 35 goals and 25 assists in 78 Premier League matches since joining United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
“Of course he was a very good player for Manchester United, but he’s still waiting for him to show up when they really need him in those big games,” Bent said of Fernandez. ..
When asked by Andy Goldstein, the host of talkSPORT, whether he was strict with Fernandez, who he would definitely want to see in his beloved Gunners, Bent replied: I will not do it.
“For now, I’d like to leave Arsenal’s way of playing to Martin Ødegaard. I’m taking on Odegor in that role of Arsenal. He’s exactly what Arsenal is doing now. I’m him. I will not exchange it for Bruno. “
Odegor has also been praised by Arsenal legends this week, with Paul Merson claiming that former Real Madrid players are “one of the best players in the Premier League.”
“Martin Ødegaard proves I’m wrong and Arsenal is becoming the leader who needs to pass the toughest test ever,” Marson told Daily Star.
“He’s the protagonist there right now and the first name on the team seat for me. He’s really improving and doing business.
“I think the player respects him because he turns out to be a real player. I didn’t see it at first, I have to admit.
“He didn’t seem to want to leave Real Madrid and didn’t think he pulled up the tree with the Loan spell at Arsenal.

“When Madrid didn’t want him anymore, he might have been quit and lost confidence, but he’s playing better than ever. He’s Arsenal’s dependable man, He makes them tick.
“He’s not a leader in running around, kicking people, barking orders, but when it comes to how he plays, he does.
“The way he turned it around is that people are looking at him now and playing fair, he’s doing very, very well. He always wants the ball and how to use it. I know that is also leadership.
“He’s the top, the top drawer, so I take him off my hat. In my opinion, it’s one of the best in the Premier League.”
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League, three points above London’s northern London and top four rivals Tottenham, and will face Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace on April 4.
