In August, a man who wanted to throw a Molotov cocktail was arrested at a church near the Capitol Complex in Austin.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 21-year-old Eleazar Dushimimana was arrested on September 8 and booked in Travis County Prison after being charged with felony arson in a chapel and felony for banned weapons.
The Public Security Bureau said his accusations stemmed from the August 31 incident in which a Molotov cocktail was thrown in a church between 1 am and 1:30 am.
The DPS Troopers responded to the scene, but the suspect had already escaped on foot, the Public Security Bureau said.
According to the Department of Public Security, Dusimimana was arrested as a result of investigations by the Department of Public Security of Texas, the Austin Fire Department, and the University of Texas at Austin Police Department.
His arrest was the result of two crime stopper tips, and multiple rewards were paid, the Department of Public Security said.
Earlier this month, Texas Crime Stoppers offered cash rewards of up to $ 10,000 for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of this individual.
