Pakistani captain Babar Azam is by far the best batter out of Asian countries for some time. His superiority in all formats is well known, but it was the T20 cricket surge that came into the limelight at the beginning of his career. Known for his ability to score freely in the shortest format of cricket, Babar set a major milestone on Sunday, beating Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. The stylish top-order batter won undefeated 59 at the National T20 Cup, Pakistan’s premier national T20 tournament, to help the team’s Central Punjab defeat Southern Punjab with seven wickets. Meanwhile, Babar was the fastest to record 7,000 runs on the Men’s T20 Cricket.
He reached the milestone in 187 innings. That’s 15 less than the legendary West Indies Chris Gayle, who previously held a record of being the fastest batter to reach 7,000 runs on the T20. Gail took 192 innings to reach the landmark. Indian captain Virat Kohli was pushed to third place on the list after spending 212 innings to reach the landmark. Kori was recently the first Indian batter to achieve 10,000 runs in the T20 cricket in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Babal is the 30th batter to exceed 7,000 runs in the T20 and the third Pakistani after Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Huffies.
He is aiming for the best shape and shape ahead of Pakistan’s blockbuster opening match with his rival India at the ICC T20 World Cup on October 24th.
He is currently number 10 on the list of the best Langetters for men at T20 International, averaging 46.89 2204 runs in 56 innings.
