LONDON: Barclays posted a first-quarter net profit of £ 1.3 billion (73 2.73737 billion) on Friday on the back of gains in equity trading and investment banking.
The Bank of England has said that credit deficit has fallen “significantly” to १०० 100 million, down from १ 2.1 billion in the first quarter of 2020.
According to Refinitive, analysts had expected net income to reach .3 1.3 billion in the first three months of the year. The British Bank had a net income of बँके 220 million in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Barclays shares have risen about 31% since the beginning of the year.
