Patrik Schick has been the focus of attention from a series of Premier League clubs, but Bayer Leverkusen’s chief has issued strict hands-off warnings to stakeholders.
This 26-year-old has by far the best season of his career, scoring 20 goals in just 20 Bundesliga games.
The Czech striker got a lot of attention at Euro 2020 last summer, winning five nets in his country and boasting an impressive international record of 17 goals with 33 caps.
Not surprisingly, the tall, speedy and prolific striker has received a lot of attention from the Premier League, and Sun is interested in Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and even Manchester City.
These clubs were able to test Leverkusen’s determination with huge bids, but German clubs claim their star strikers weren’t for sale and the issue was indisputable.
Fernando Carro, CEO of Leverksuen, said:
“He feels very comfortable with us. We rely on him for plans for the next few years.”
The Bundesliga side is in a good position, Chic has a contract until 2025 and sits third at the table, so he may offer Champions League football next season.
Arsenal and Manchester City will be able to attract strikers in the summer and place high bids at huge wages, but the future of the Czech Republic depends on what offers come.
Chic has already played in the Czech League, Serie A and Bundesliga and may want to add the Premier League to his resume.
