A Summary of Yae Miko’s Best Builds

Yae Miko is best played as the Main/Sub-DPS character in your team. The focus should be on upgrading her Elemental Skill and Burst for maximum damage.

With the release of the Dendro Element, it is recommended to build Yae Miko with the Gilded Dreams artifact set. Alternative options include the Thundersoother, Emblem of Severed Fate, and the Wanderer’s Troupe/Gladiator’s Finale/Thundering Fury 2-piece combinations.

For her best-in-slot 5-star catalyst, choose Kagura’s Verity. Other 4-star options include the Solar Pearl and the Widsith.

Breakdown of Yae Miko’s Talents and Playstyles

Yae Miko’s Combat Talents

As the Chief Priestess (Guuji) of the Grand Narukami Shrine, Yae Miko is expected to handle the temple’s affairs. If she’s not assisting visitors to the sacred land, she’s probably at the Yae Publishing House catching up on a story she’s missed.

On February 16, 2022, Genshin Impact’s 2.5 update went live. Travelers’ excitement worldwide increased tenfold for the Event Banner of the new 5-star character became available. Yae Miko, an Electro catalyst user, was first available on the Event Banner “Everbloom Violent” until March 8, 2022. The 4-stars on the Guuji’s Event Banner were Thoma, Fischl, and Diona.

In this article, we’ll bring you the best Yae Miko build that breaks down her talents, playstyles, best weapons, and artifact sets, and constellations.

A Summary of Yae Miko’s Best Builds

Typically, you’re going to want to play Yae Miko as the Main/Sub-DPS character in your teams. The Traveler should focus on upgrading the character’s Elemental Skill and Burst.

Due to the playable release of the Dendro Element, players are recommended to build Yae Miko with the Gilded Dreams artifact set. Other options include the Thundersoother, Emblem of Severed Fate, and the Wanderer’s Troupe/Gladiator’s Finale/Thundering Fury 2-piece combinations.

Her best-in-slot 5-star catalyst is Kagura’s Verity. 4-star options include the Solar Pearl and the Widsith.

Breakdown of Yae Miko’s Talents and Playstyles

Yae Miko’s Combat Talents

In Summary,

  • Her Normal Attack is a 3-attack sequence that deals Electro DMG. (Upgrade Last)
  • Her Elemental Skill leaves pillars on the ground that DMG enemies based on the number of pillars deployed, these pillars also increase her Elemental Burst DMG. (Upgrade First)
  • Her Elemental Burst is a devastating Electro AoE attack.

Yae Miko is a versatile character who can dish out some serious DMG from close and far away. She is played as either a main DPS or a sub-DPS. In either case, she’ll need another Electro character, like Raiden Shogun or Fischl, on the team for her to use her Burst continuously.

Yae Miko’s Normal Attack/Charged Attack

Her normal and charged attacks deal Electro DMG to your opponents. Although very good for applying Electro on your enemies, this ability is not the most integral part of her kit. That role is filled by her Elemental Skill and Burst.

Yae Miko’s Elemental Skill

Her skill is the most important part of her kit, and we recommend players prioritize upgrading this talent over her Elemental Burst and Normal Attack.

Yae Miko's Elemental Skill

Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura

When Miko uses her Elemental Skill, Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura, she dashes forwards or backward (depends on where your mouse is aiming) and summons a foxlike pillar on the ground. These pillars, or Sesshou Sakura, periodically strike nearby opponents with Electro DMG, and they have three charges at C0. You can summon all three of them on the field. The DMG of the pillars scales depending on the number of Sesshou Sakura present.

Each pillar lasts for 14 seconds and has a 4 seconds cooldown between summons. Be careful not to summon the Sesshou Sakura too close to each other as the newly summoned pillar will shatter.

Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst

Yae Miko’s Burst should be upgraded second, after her Elemental Skill.

Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin

Next, Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst, Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin, calls forth a powerful lightning strike that deals AoE Electro DMG. Each Sesshou Sakura on the field transforms into a Tenko Thunderbolt that also deals AoE Electro DMG. One Sesshou Sakura equals one Tenko Thunderbolt.

Conveniently, after activating Yae’s Elemental Burst, the cooldown of her skills resets if you have her passive talent, “The Shrine’s Sacred Shade“, unlocked.

As mentioned above, the Chief Priestess needs a battery character (which we will discuss in detail in the teams section) on the team to have her Burst up effectively. Tenko Kenshin has a whopping 90 Energy Cost and a cooldown of 22 seconds.

Yae Miko’s Passive Talents

  • Meditations of a Yako: Has a 25% chance to get 1 regional Character Talent Material (base material excluded) when crafting. The rarity is that of the base material.
  • The Shrine’s Sacred Shade: When casting Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin, each Sesshou Sakura destroyed resets the cooldown for 1 charge of Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura.
  • Enlightened Blessing: Every point of Elemental Mastery Yae Miko possesses will increase Sesshou Sakura DMG by 0.15%. (IMPORTANT)

Yae Miko’s Rotations

The optimal rotation for a Yae Miko team composition typically goes like this:

  1. Use Yae Miko’s Elemental Skill (E) and summon three Sesshou Sakura.
  2. Swap out to other characters to deal DMG.
  3. Swap back to Yae Miko when her Elemental Burst (Q) is up and activate it.
  4. Note: Make sure three Sesshou Sakura are on-field.

Yae Miko’s playstyle can be a bit tricky to master. Apart from shining in specific team compositions, her skills also need timing to deal DMG effectively. Let’s move on to her best weapon slots.

Yae Miko’s Constellations

A brief note is necessary here.. C0 Yae Miko is an amazing unit. Please do not feel forced to roll for a character’s constellations. They are nice to have and can boost a character’s effectiveness but they aren’t worth spending real-world currency on unless you have a large reserve of expendable income.

However, if you do end up getting more constellations, congratulations! Let us get you familiar with Yae Miko‘s Stella Fortuna.

A support-type constellation, increases the Electro DMG of all nearby party members by 20% for 5s when Yae Miko‘s foxlike pillars, Sesshou Sakura, hit opponents with their lightning attack.

*blows whistle* A lot like Raiden Shogun‘s C2, Yae Miko‘s C6 will allow her Elemental Skill’s Sesshou Sakura‘s lightning attacks to ignore 60% of your opponent’s DEF.

Weapons

The following information is taken from complete Yae Miko builds made by popular Genshin YouTubers Zy0x, Tenha, and IWinToLoseGaming.

Unarguably the best catalyst for Yae Miko is the 5-star Kagura’s Verity, which is her signature weapon. The weapon not only matches Yae Miko’s aesthetics but also increases her Elemental Skill DMG. The catalyst also has ludicrous CRIT DMG and ATK scalings, making this weapon worthy of being the Chief Priestess herself.

Most other 5-star catalysts can serve as your Yae Miko‘s build well. Good 5-star options for Miko include the Skyward Atlas and the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. One of the most recent additions to the game, the Sumeru Archon‘s weapon of choice, A Thousand Floating Dreams, can also be considered in a Dendro based team composition (more on that very soon). The Memory of Dust catalyst is also a good choice if you have it, but isn’t the best option you can go for, especially considering how powerful some of the 4-star alternatives are.

The 4-star Widsith is a very good replacement catalyst as it increases the wielder’s Elemental DMG and Elemental Mastery. Another good 4-star weapon is the Solar Pearl for its Elemental Skill and Burst DMG increase whenever the user performs a Normal Attack.

This is a generalised ranking of some of the viable weapons that Yae Miko can equip. Please note, these DMG tests were performed under controlled scenarios, so DPS values may differ according to artifact sets, stats, and talent levels etc.

Yae Miko’s Best Artifacts Sets

Moving forward, let’s talk about the best artifact sets you can build on Yae Miko. Thankfully, she’s a flexible character in terms of artifacts for she can use a few different combinations of sets.

Sets for General Use

If you wish to focus on maximising Yae Miko’s DMG output, you can go for a 2-piece Gladiator Finale paired with a 2-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence for the 18% ATK Bonus. You can also swap out one of these sets and switch it with a 2-piece Thundering Fury. Alternatively, you can also build a 4-piece Thundering Fury or a 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate.

A Complicated Alternative

Also, and we mention this last because of the difficulty of use, players can make use of the Thundersoother artifact to further empower their Yae Miko‘s build. The set provides a 35% DMG buff against opponents affected by Electro on it’s 4-piece . Players may find it difficult to consistently proc this sets 4-piece passive, because, they’ll have to carefully pick and choose team comps and rotations that do not remove the Electro Elementa affix off the opponents that they are fighting.

Yae’s Best Artifact Set For Dendro Reaction-Based Teams

Dendro is an incredible supportive element for all Electro characters. Electro+Dendro Elemental Reactions, Quicken Aggravate, and Spread are vital for increasing your Electro characters’ DMG. These reactions can be made even stronger if characters have a respectable amount of the Elemental Mastery substat built onto them.

If you are proccing Dendro–Electro reactions, then the Gilded Dreams set is going to be your go-to option, the set can give your unit ridiculous amounts of EM and some ATK% from its 2-piece and 4-piece buffs.

At the end of the day, it’s best to go with a set that you have the ideal main and substats on. Players can even experiment with some clever combos using all of the artifacts sets given above. all of theWith that said, go for an ATK% Sands, Electro DMG Bonus Goblet, and a CRIT DMG/Rate Circlet.

Substats:

  • CRIT Rate/DMG
  • ATK%
  • EM
  • ER

Yae Miko’s Best Team Comps

Yae Miko is an excellent DPS character who can work in many team comps. Generally, a Taser team would include Yae Miko, Kokomi/Xingqiu (the latter is preferred), Fischl/Raiden Shogun/Beidou (Raiden Shogun is preferred for the aesthetics). Your last character can be a support that increases your Electro character’s DMG: Sucrose, Venti, Kazuha, and Jean are all viable options for your 4th slot.

For Dendro reaction-based teams (and these are the best ones for Yae, mind you), Aggravate/Quicken and Bloom/Hyper Bloom teams will be your best friend.

The first team will produce a mix of Hyperbloom, Bloom, and Quicken reactions.
The first slot consists of a powerful Dendro applier, which Nahida (ideally) fills up. Alternates include Collei, Dendro Traveler, and Tighnari (not preferred).

Kazuha for the Swirl, the Elemental DMG bonus, and the flex.
Electro characters like Fischl, Kuki Shinobu, Raiden Shogun, and Beidou can be substituted into your 3rd slot, if players want to focus on Electro DMG or don’t have powerful Hydro supports for their 4th slot.

Kokomi is an excellent off-field Hydro applier. She can be substituted for characters like Yelan, Mona, Barbara, or Xingqiu. But, players need to keep in mind the rate of Hydro application that these characters provide. Some may be too quick and take the spotlight away from Yae Miko‘s DPS capabilities.

If players bring a second Electro character, powerful support like Zhongli, Jean or Bennett can work perfectly.

Conclusion

What do you think of the Chief Priestess? Does she look like a fun character to play? We hope this Yae Miko build helped clear up your questions on her gameplay. For Travellers who are grinding daily to bring her home, we wish you the best of luck!
