According to the Lantana Aqueduct, Lantana residents were notified on Saturday of boiling water due to a disconnection.
The line that supplies water from the pumping station to the elevated tank broke, reducing water pressure and supply. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has since requested the issuance of boiling water notices.
This notice is intended for residents who had a power outage on Friday, primarily those living north of Golf Club Drive.
Residents should boil all the water used for consumption, including drinking, cooking and ice making, to kill bacteria and other microbes, officials said. The water should be “boiled violently” for 2 minutes.
The aqueduct said it would collect samples on Saturday, return test results by Sunday, and notify residents at that point.
