January 15, April 15, July 15 and October 15, 2024 are the four equal quarterly payments residents of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan receive.
Dates of CAI checks 2024
The deadline for residents of the selected provinces is the fifteenth of each month of January, April, July and October. On January 15, they will receive their rebate checks for 2024.
Please remember that if the 15th falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, payment will be made on the last business day.
To reduce the price of pollution, residents of these cities will receive a payment consisting of both the base value of the CAI 2024 payment and the additional amount.

CAI checks eligibility for 2024
- You can receive the CAIP credit for each child if you are eligible for the Canada Child Benefit.
- If the citizen is a resident of Canada, he or she is eligible for the credit.
- The person must be 19 years old, have a spouse or common-law partner, be a parent who resides with the child and have paid taxes. They must also be residents of the CAIP province on the first day of payment.
- You must be the parent of a child under the age of 19, who must reside with you and be in your custody.
- Living in a small town or a rural town may entitle you to an additional increase of 10% of the basic amount.
- In addition, a portion of federal tax revenues will go to small and medium-sized businesses, colleges, cities, non-profit organizations and Indigenous communities.

To help families and individuals in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario cover expenses related to federal pricing on pollution, the Canadian Income Tax Credit (CAIP) is a tax-free payment.
The Government of Canada imposes charges on carbon emissions to combat climate change and rebuilding costs.
Targeting emissions and fossil fuels differently in different regions, the tax aims to reduce the use of carbon dioxide. This tax does not fund the federal government.
The goal of CAIP is to give Canadians more money to help them deal with the burden of rising taxes and prices. Among households benefiting from the program, eight in ten receive more money than they paid for fuel tax.

The actions listed below must be taken to claim your 2024 CAI payments.
- To find out if you qualify, first check your CAI payment eligibility.
- If you have applied, visit the official website canada.ca.
- Wait until the end of the month by consulting the ARC portal.
- Then, to find out whether the CAI 2024 Payment Amount has been credited or not, check your bank account.
- One can contact the authorities to know the payment status if the money has not been credited.
What is your maximum CAIP?
Your family’s circumstances and the province in which you reside will dictate the amount you receive.
Since the CAIP is universal, the payment will not be subject to a reduction in benefits based on the family’s adjusted net income. Check with officials for more details.
How to apply for a climate action incentive?
Payment of the CAIP can be obtained without request. When you file your income tax and benefit return, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will verify your eligibility and, if you are eligible, will make the payments.
A single person can only take credit for the family if they are your husband or common-law partner. If a spouse or common-law partner files their tax return early, they will receive the credit. The credit amount is the same for each of you, regardless of who gets it first.
You and your spouse (if applicable) or common-law partner must continue to file an annual income tax and benefit return to be eligible for CAIP payments.
