Waxahachie firefighters have worked to show support for friends and retired colleagues who are fighting the coronavirus.
Renkuro was a Waxahachie firefighter for 33 years. He has been in the hospital fighting COVID-19 since September 10.
Firefighters gathered to pick him up a little.
The nurse flashed the lights to let him know which room was Crow’s room, and the firefighters raised the ladder to the fifth floor of Baylor Scott & White.
“I used to be a Waxahachie firefighter, but I’ve always been a Waxahachie firefighter,” said one of the firefighters.
They could meet him and let him know that he was waiting for him to get better, and Crow was able to wave.
“This made a lot of sense for my dad and our family,” said Crow’s daughter Kelsey Washington, who shared the video with NBC5.
