The University of Utah’s defensive back died after being shot in Salt Lake City early Sunday morning.
Former West Mesquite soccer player Aaron Lowe, 21, was shot dead in the Sugar House area on September 25, according to Salt Lake City police.
Police said police officers received noise complaints about a house party at 2200 blocks on South Broadmoor Street in Salt Lake City at around 10:30 pm.
A few hours later, at around 12:20 am, police said another call was made by a neighbor about a weapons battle.
According to police, police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Police also said they had received a third call from someone who reported that the police had heard the gunshot.
When police arrived at the scene, police said they found Rowe and a second victim, an adult woman, suffering from an obvious gunshot wound.
According to police, police officers provided first aid to both individuals. Rowe was declared dead on the scene.
Another victim was taken to a local hospital and is still in crisis, police said.

After talking to witnesses, police said photos and videos from people attending the house party might help resolve the murder.
According to police, no arrests have been made at this time.
