Delhi Capitals will resume the IPL2021 campaign on September 22 in a clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Aside from the fact that DC has already scored 12 points for Kitty in eight games, the recovery from injury by intermediate batter Schreyas Ayer greatly boosts the team’s chances of re-entering the playoff stage.
DC’s South African pace pioneer Kagiso Rabada, who won a purple cap after winning 30 wickets last season, feels that Ayer’s return will help balance the team.
“It’s great that Schreyas is back. He’s a phenomenal batter and an integral part of our team. He’s well-balanced in the team. He wants to play. I’m sure. He’s fine and hits the ball well, “he reportedly said in the official release of DC.
Lavada gained confidence prior to the start of the UAE leg and felt that the performance of the team in the first half was in a good position to replay the playoffs.
“I think everyone is in a good space because I’ve been playing cricket since the first half of the tournament. That’s positive for the team. It’s good to start the second half of the season on the table. But there’s still work to be done. There are many. We have given ourselves a good chance to play in the playoffs and win spots in the finals, “Rabada said.
Delhi Capitals is currently in the second location on the IPL point table.
