A sensational cameo from Rabindra Jadeya (8 balls 22 off) helped Chennai Super Kings defeat the Kolkata Knight Riders with two wickets in their final ball thriller in a Sunday IPL match. Chasing 172 targets, CSK’s top batters lacked a useful contribution, but they finally wobbled before Jadeja won with two 4- and 6-studded 8-ball 22s. 8 out of 20 over. Other contributors were Faf du Plessis (44), Ruturaj Gaikwad (40), and Moeen Ali (32). Previously, KKR scored 171 points with 6 points after choosing a bat.
Rahul Tripathi made 45 out of 33 balls, but beneficial contributions also came from Nitish Rana (37 not out) and Dinesh Karthik (26).
Indian pacemaker Shah Dal Takul was one of CSK’s best bowlers in the game, returning an impressive 2/20 with a four-over quarter.
Josh Hazlewood also picked up two wickets, including the KKR skipper Eoin Morgan’s wicket.
