Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera could play a key role in the Royal Challengers Bangalore campaign once the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season resumes in the United Arab Emirates, according to Captain Virat Kohli. Two Sri Lankan players have joined the RCB team as the Australian duo Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa are no longer available. Despite the lack of two-star players, Kori is confident that the replacement of the two Sri Lankas will work in the UAE situation.
“Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa were together for a moment on the first leg. They were an integral part of the team. They decided not to play on the second leg for absolutely understandable reasons. I did, “said Kori. Said by ESPNCricinfo on Saturday.
“The substitutes we got for them are two players who know these conditions. The conditions of the subcontinent at this time of the year are quite similar,” he added.
“Wanin du Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera are two guys who played a lot of cricket in Sri Lanka. They understand how to play on such a pitch. Their skill set is playing in Dubai and hot and humid. It’s very helpful in understanding how this situation happens. They all know how the pitch unfolds.
“People who are well integrated into the team’s culture and team planning. The core group is also motivated. We are not focusing on what we missed at all, but we feel strongly because of the new additions. Gave me some other dimensions. “
The RCB will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Shake Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday in the first match since the reopening of IPL 2021.
