Former Indian captain MS Dhoni was recently appointed as the mentor for the Indian team at the ICCT 20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman from October 17th to November 14th. It was a decision that surprised many. Doni, who played India’s last international match in the semi-final defeat to New Zealand at the 2019 ICC World Cup, is now leading the Chennai Super Kings in the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
According to former England captain Michael Vaughan, Indian players will benefit from having Doni around during the T20 World Cup.
Vaughn, who told Cricbuzz in a video discussion, praised Doni and CSK for his tactical adjustments when he recently defeated Royal Challengers Bangaloa.
“There are combinations in the Chennai Super Kings batting lineup. Depending on the pitch, the combination depends on who is bowling. MS Doni, (Glen) Maxwell probably bowls again, probably two I’ve noticed bowling over, or three overs, and yes, they (CSK) threw right-handed. It’s a smart cricket and it’s flexible to your batting lineup, “Vorn told Cricket. rice field.
He went on to add that appointing Doni as the Indian mentor for the T20 World Cup was “the biggest decision.”
“You have the best T20 captain (Doni) ever. I know there was a bit of a fuss when he participated in the T20 World Cup mentoring. Why India is MS in that mentoring role? Don’t you want Doni? This is the biggest decision made by the Indian T20 team.
“You need that mind, you need that brain in and around that bargain, in and around the training zone. He does it without thinking, he offers what he offers. It’s very natural. He seems to understand it correctly around 90-95% times. He’s a master. “
