Lionel Messi kept up his impressive scoring streak by making an amazing goal in the first half. This helped Inter Miami win 4-1 against Philadelphia Union and secure a spot in the Leagues Cup final.
At the beginning of the match, Venezuelan player Josef Martinez scored for the home team, Philadelphia Union. He got a pass from Sergii Kryvtsov and calmly shot the ball into the goal past goalkeeper Andre Blake.
Lionel Messi Takes Inter Miami to Final
Just before halftime, Jordi Alba, who used to play with Messi at Barcelona, scored a goal too. He got a well-placed pass from Robert Taylor and skillfully shot the ball over the diving Blake into the net, making it 3-0.
Martinez then turned provider as he found Messi in space, allowing the Argentine World Cup winner to stream forward before rifling a low 30-yard drive into the far corner.
Philadelphia Union managed to score a goal back when Alejandro Bedoya capitalized on a corner kick that wasn’t cleared properly by Miami’s goalkeeper Drake Callender.
But Inter Miami sealed their victory with another goal from their substitute player David Ruiz. He worked with Deandre Yedlin and managed to score from close range past Blake.
Inter Miami To Face Nashville in the Final

Inter Miami will play against another American club, Nashville SC, in the final on Saturday, August 19th. Messi has scored nine goals in just six matches after he joined Inter Miami for free last month.
The Leagues Cup happens every year and involves teams from the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
