Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah said he was devoting himself to bidding on the club’s silverware, saying there could be a deadlock in the deal. Salah has not yet signed an extension of the current Liverpool contract, which expires at the end of the 2022-23 season. Reportedly, the stumbling block is the wage demands of a 29-year-old Egyptian star. There was an argument that Sarah wanted to be on par with some of the top earners in the Premier League. Liverpool’s practice of avoiding big contracts with athletes over the age of 30 fuels the fear of Sarah leaving Anfield.
His value to Liverpool is clear after he started the season with nine goals in nine games.
So far, Sarah has focused on Jurgen Klopp’s team keeping pace with Premier League leader Chelsea after the undefeated start of the season.
“I’m happy as long as the team keeps winning,” Sarah told the Liverpool website Thursday.
“I’m always helping, scoring goals and trying to get the team to win the match. That’s the most important thing.
“We must always do our best to win something, and I think we have the quality for that.
“We have a top team, so we have to push the boundaries and try to win something. I’m sure everyone is thinking the same.
“That’s what we need, to keep in mind that we’ll win something at the end of the season.”
