Talking about the match, India won the toss and opted to have a bowl first on a wicket with a tinge of grass on it. Indian pacers were right on the money as they completely demolished the English batting line-up. Batters including Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jonny Bairstow were sent back to the pavilion quickly by a spirited bowling performance from the visitors.
England skipper Jos Buttler was the highest run-scorer for his team after amassing 30 runs. Roy, Bairstow, Stokes, Root, Liam Livingstone, and Craig Overton could not even cross the double-figure mark. For India, Bumrah spewed venom with the ball as he scalped a total of six wickets for his team and gave away just 19 runs in 7.2 overs. Shami was also excellent for his three wickets.
