Nationwide Building Society is terminating its free European travel insurance policy for Flex Account customers.
The company has informed FlexAccount customers by letter and email that their free travel insurance benefits will be removed from December 31, 2021. Dropped.
Nationally, we have guaranteed that travel will continue to be covered for FlexAccount members who booked trips that were canceled before the free travel insurance coverage ended later this year. Those who have booked a trip departing in 2021 and returning to 2022 will be covered throughout the trip.
Only Flex Account members who opened an account on Nationwide before December 15, 2016 will be eligible for the free European Travel Insurance benefits. It has not been available to new customers since the offer of benefits was stopped nationwide in 2016.
“After removing it for new members in 2016, we maintained free European travel insurance for many years of FlexAccount members,” said a Nationwide spokesman. ParentsHe added that the perks have been removed because only a quarter of FlexAccount’s customers were actually using coverage.
As compensation, Nationwide offers affected customers a 30% discount on Direct Line travel insurance.
