Navaratri 2021: Sadly, the Navaratri festival is nearing its end. Today marks Ashtami, the eighth day of this religious festival. Day 8 is dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri, the avatar of Goddess Durga. So far, I’ve been able to fast for eight days! This feels like an achievement, but the journey still takes a few days. To survive this vrat, you need a wide variety of vrat recipes that can be eaten throughout the process. Repeating the vrat recipe can be intriguing, so you need to be amazed by the new delicious flavors every day. Here’s another vrat recipe that you can eat during Nabaratori. This recipe uses singhare kaatta, a vrat-approved ingredient that we love to eat. The dish we brought is Shinhalekekadi.

Singhare ke kadhi is a creamy, mellow curry made without salt, garlic and onions, an ideal vrat recipe. This recipe is very easy to make and you don’t even have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen!
How to make Singhare Ke Kadhi:
Start by tapping the card with a whisk until smooth, then add Singale Keata to it. Whisk well. Make sure there are no lumps. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan and fry the ghee and cumin seeds. When they start to scatter, add ginger and green pepper paste and mix. Reduce heat, add Atakar mixture, stir continuously for 10 minutes and season with rock salt. Transfer this to a serving bowl.
Now it’s time to make Tucker and Heat Guy in a small pot. Add curry leaves and dried red pepper. Pour the tucker into the caddy and you’re ready to cook!
