Modi Cabinet One Rank One Pension: The Modi government has taken a big decision regarding the ‘One Rank, One Pension scheme in the cabinet meeting held on Friday. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that in the Union Cabinet meeting, approval has been given to amend the provisions of ‘One Rank, One Pension’. This will benefit pensioner defense personnel and their families. Talking to the media, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the widows and disabled people of the soldiers who were martyred in the war will also benefit from this. For this, the government will need Rs 8450 crore every year.

25 lakh people will be benefited
Earlier 20.60 lakh pensioners used to benefit from this scheme, but after the amendment, about 25.13 lakh people will be able to take advantage of it. The Union Minister said that under this amendment the arrears from July 2019 to June 2022 will also be given. For this, the government will need Rs 23,638.07 crore. In the press release issued by the government, it was said that this amendment will increase the trend of the youth toward the armed forces. It was said in the press release that the Government of India is fully committed to this.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur also made a tweet about this, in which he wrote that the cabinet has approved the next revision of the pension of defense forces employees/family pensioners under ‘One Rank, One Pension’. This will put an additional burden of Rs 8,450 crore on the government. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted about this decision of the government, in which it was said that this decision will benefit more than 25.13 lakh ex-servicemen.
