After a five-year term, Mayor Pantego resigns “to focus on family and business interests.”
Elected in May 2017, Doug Davis resigned on Thursday after working in town for over 40 years as a police officer, police chief, mayor, and mayor.
City council member Rhian Brewster took over as acting mayor.
“It’s an honor to serve the citizens of Pantego, but it’s time for me to focus on the interests of my family and business,” Davis wrote in his resignation. “I am proud to serve with the dedicated professional staff and city council who have worked to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Pantego, and I am confident that they will continue to do so. increase.”
Pantego is an outpost in Arlington, home to more than 2,500 inhabitants.
