The website includes memories of people who have seen the prime minister’s life up close. It also calls for submission of write-ups, audio or visual stories of any such experiences or anecdotes, along with photographs, letters or personal memorabilia associated with PM Modi.
Sharing the Twitter handle of the new website (modistory.in), Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani said, “Stories of patience and grace… Memories of the magic of personal meetings, conversations that depict a sociable personality, A decisive political figure… Stories untold till now, unheard.”
Sharing the website, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur tweeted, “Check out this unique initiative by a voluntary group! Interesting stories and anecdotes from PM Narendra Modi ji’s journey and work in public life.”
Dr. Anil Rawal, a resident of Gujarat, shared a heart-wrenching story narrated by the Prime Minister during his visit to him in the 1980s. Dr. Rawal had asked the Prime Minister, “What are you committed to the upliftment of the last man standing?” To which, PM Modi recalled an incident when he had gone to the house of a ‘Volunteer’ and had lunch there.
Another anecdote, which has never been heard before, was shared by Rohit Agarwal, another resident of Gujarat, who said that PM Modi disguised himself as ‘Sardarji’ (Sikh) during the Emergency and how he was attacked by policemen. He narrowly escaped from being caught.
The website has many other stories shared by people who crossed paths with the Prime Minister at some point in their lives.
