Yashaswi Jaiswal defeated the second fastest half-century by an IPL capless player.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 continues to amaze us! Two games were played on Super Saturday (October 2nd), and the procedure was completely different. Mumbai Indians almost defended 130 against Delhi Capitals, while Rajasthan Royals chased 190 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) effortlessly. The night match was astounding, with many matches taking place at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Table topper CSK would have been confident after posting 189/4 when first batting. After all, RR’s batting order has been struggling in the last few games. But, as the saying goes, the only certainty about cricket is uncertainty. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube defeated Quickfire for half a century as the RR took only 17.1 over to cross the line. It should be remembered that there were also important contributions from Ewin Lewis and skipper Sangju Samson.
Coming to the first inning, Ruturaj Gaikwad stole the show in a ferocious century. He recorded a run for fun as the RR bowler struggled against him. Unfortunately for CSK, the youth’s efforts were wasted as the RR crossed the line to maintain hope for the playoffs.
Meanwhile, important statistics and figures from the RR-CSK collision at IPL2021 are:
