A search for Texas people who went missing while kayaking on the White River continued on Sunday in northern Arkansas.
According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, authorities began searching for the man on Saturday around 1 pm after diving into the White River and receiving a call saying he had not resurfaced.
Rescue workers were told that the man was kayaking with others when he turned over in the river, began to struggle, and went down. The water level of the White River was high and the flow was fast.
A helicopter and boat in the sheriff’s office searched for several hours on Saturday, but could not find the man.
The name of a missing 29-year-old man from Beaumont, Texas has not been released by authorities.
