According to police, a stolen car owned by a Lyft driver who was hit deadly in Garland was found outside the Plano police station on Sunday afternoon.
At a joint press conference on Sunday evening, no association was found between the two cases.
According to Garland police, the first incident occurred just before 12:00 pm on 400 blocks of Forest Gate Drive.
Police said police had arrived to find a woman who apparently had a gunshot wound. She was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
Police said the woman was a Lyft driver hired to get someone on board. Her car was stolen from Garland’s location.
Garland police said police investigated the shooting and found that the stolen car was outside Plano police headquarters and shot and injured a man who fired in the lobby.
At around 12:15 pm, the man wore a mask and “behaved irregularly,” according to Plano police, entering police headquarters at 900 blocks on 14th Avenue.
Police said the man entered the lobby twice, but the second time he fired a pistol at a civilian police officer who was helping the visitor.
According to police, two police officers shot and killed a man with a pistol after an employee and a visitor hid themselves.
“Subjects raised their weapons with their right hand and fired in the direction of civilian employees, at which time civilian employees and civilians were able to escape to the concubine,” said Jerry Minton of the Plano Police Station. rice field.
According to police, he was taken to a local hospital in an unknown state by Planofire Rescue.
Police said no one else was injured in the shooting.
“It’s a much sadder deal,” said Matt Pesta of the Garland Police Department. “Today we would have lost our lives and would have done more without the heroic actions of the Plano Police Department.”
Forest Gate Drive and Plano Police Station are about 10 miles away.
According to police, the only link between the two confirmed cases at this time is the stolen vehicle of the Lyft driver. They have not officially linked Plano Shooter to the murder in Garland. Investigation is ongoing.
