The man was charged with murder after police said he had strangled a woman in a Louisville apartment building on Friday.
According to the Lewisville Police Department, police officers received a call about an unconscious person in an apartment at the Oak Forest Apartment Complex in 1531, South Texas 121, around 8:45 pm on March 18.
Police said they had found the body of 23-year-old Aiyah Ashanti Roseborough on the scene when police arrived.
On March 19, police officers arrested 23-year-old Dion Cortez Jones without incident in connection with Roseborough’s death, police said.
According to police, Jones later confessed to investigators that he and Roseborough were involved in the battle, at which point Jones strangled her.
According to police, Jones has been charged with murder and is currently detained in Denton County Jail with $ 500,000 in public debt.
