This is a collection of weapons used by the United States military personnel on an individual basis. Typically, crew-served weapons require more than one person to operate them, but there are exceptions with squad automatic weapons (SAW) and sniper rifles. In the organizational structure of both the United States Army and the U.S. Marine Corps, these two types of weapons are categorized as crew-served. In these cases, the person operating the weapon has a partner who carries extra ammunition and related gear, serves as a spotter, and is fully trained to operate the weapon. You can find these weapons listed under the ‘Crew-Served Weapons of the U.S. Armed Forces’ section.
