Amidst the rise of COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government took action and imposed a night curfew in several key districts.
There will be a one-night curfew in Varanasi on Thursday from 9 in the morning. Then the time of morning is yet to be announced.
In Prayagraj, a night curfew has been imposed from 10 am to 8 am on Thursday night. The District Magistrate said that necessary services will be exempted from the curfew.
In view of increasing cases of COVID-19, curfew has been imposed in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi since Thursday night.
The night curfew in Lucknow will be from 9 am to 6 am and will continue till 16 April. There will be a night curfew in Kanpur from 10 pm to 6 pm. The curfew will continue till April 30.
There have been 4,689 COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, which is the total number of active cases in the state at 27,509. The death toll in Uttar Pradesh rose to 8,924 with 30 deaths on Wednesday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called an emergency meeting on Thursday on the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state. The meeting will take place at half past seven in the evening. The Chief Minister is in the electoral state of West Bengal, due to which the meeting could not be decided this morning.
