He wasn’t surprised when Bill Fischer, a resident of North Dakota, USA, returned home after a four-day trip in September and opened the hood of a truck. He found a 42-gallon yellow-shelled black walnut hidden inside. Walnuts were everywhere — from between the engine parts to the depths of the hood. Well, you must be wondering how the walnuts got into the hood of his truck! It was the squirrel that stored all the walnuts. So why wasn’t Fisher surprised? This wasn’t the first time a squirrel did that.
In a Facebook post, Fisher shared his entire experience of finding walnuts on a truck and uploaded some photos and videos of cars and walnuts.

He said that “squirrels, to be exact, red squirrels picked by hand (by foot)” and “all-natural black walnuts” weigh 42 gallons. Adding humor to the post, “Hurry up. These may have limited availability, as I’ve heard that hard-working furry tree dwellers may soon retire.”
In the video he posted, you can also see his dog interested in squirrels. The dog is trying to get rid of the squirrel while looking at the top of the tree. In this regard, Fisher writes, “Squirrels are also dealing with a irritating work environment for dog-type relentless micromanagement supervisors.”
Posts have received over 500 likes and have been shared over 200 times.
One of the users commented, “Can I clone a squirrel and start a nut plantation?”

The Washington Post reports that Fisher has been addressing this particular issue every two years since 2013. This happens to be the maturity cycle of the tree. “I have another car sitting very close to the tree, and it’s always my truck,” the Washington Post said in an interview, citing Fisher. He added that when he parked his car on a street far from the walnut tree, the squirrel still found a way to hide the walnuts there.
So what do you think about the criminal repeatedly? Isn’t it bold to keep doing the same thing over and over again?
