In the wake of Jada Pinkett Smith’s startling revelations about their secret seven-year separation, Hollywood superstar Will Smith has finally broken his silence. The actor, renowned for his recent performance in “King Richard,” has spoken up about the bombshell revelations disclosed in his estranged wife’s tell-all memoir, titled ‘Worthy’.
According to a recent report by Page Six, the Oscar-winning actor shared his thoughts on Jada’s revelations, admitting that they have acted as a wake-up call. Will Smith revealed that he had been afflicted by a form of “emotional blindness” over the years, which had clouded his understanding of their relationship.
Smith stated, ‘When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.’
He went on to express that the memoir’s revelations had significantly altered his perspective, making him realize that Jada possesses qualities such as resilience, cleverness, and compassion that he had not fully appreciated before.

Jada Pinkett Smith also had her say on the matter during an interview with NBC News special host Hoda Kotb. She revealed, ‘I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be. I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. I just haven’t been able to break that promise.’
Jada even disclosed an intriguing detail about her interaction with comedian Chris Rock, who had once asked her out on a date amid rumors of her divorce from Will Smith. It’s worth noting that Will Smith famously slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars stage during the 2022 ceremony after the comedian made a joke about Jada’s appearance, to which Will exclaimed, ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f—–g mouth.’
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith tied the knot in 1997 and share two children, Jaden and Willow. Will also has a son, Trey, from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino. The couple’s revelations and reflections highlight the complexities of maintaining a long-term relationship in the public eye, shedding light on the challenges and growth that come with it.
