BigE and Finn Balordef.Usos
Paul Heyman gave a great point, pointing out that Finn Baller was so trembling with Roman Reigns that he challenged the demons by channeling to the demons.
I like the fact that WWE has already built Roman Reigns vs. Big E in the Survivor Series. Roman Reigns has been booked well in advance, with Brock Lesnar, the Demon, and the Big E all waiting on their wings.
I despise the idea that ad hoc tag teams can decisively beat the SmackDown tag team champions, especially the best teams of all time, like The Usos. These titles have no meaning.
Rick Boogsdef.Robert Roode
It’s okay for the Apollo crew to defeat Shinsuke Nakamura on the Intercontinental Championship as Rick Bougens continues to push. All Nakamura has done since winning the title is to use it as a guitar accessory. He was really a decorated manager of Boogs.
Happy Colin attacks Kevin Owens
Happy Corbin didn’t even show up dressed to compete, instead he had the glamorous shirt he wore while defeating Kevin Owens. It was jarring to say the least.
After Kevin Owens was re-laid out by Happy Corbin, this segment did nothing to quell the up-and-coming rumors that Owens could be the latest internet darling heading for AEW.
Seth Rollins comes live
Seth Rollins boldly pointed out that “someone should have helped the Big E,” and paid more attention to the fact that New Day was mysteriously missing anywhere.
Seth Rollins’ shiny silver suit gave him the chanting “You look stupid.”
I can’t convince me that this five-minute promotion from Seth Rollins took less than an hour of my time.
The best part of this segment is that Pat McAfee called Seth Rollins a tin woodman.
Toni Storm and Live Morgan def.Carmella and Jelina Vega by countout
Before it broke, Michael Cole described Jelina Vega as “passionate,” Toni Storm as “the wild kid of the 80’s,” and Liv Morgan as “rough.”
Toni Storm seemed to lose a little weight and seemed to be in the best shape of her career.
The second storyline was hijacked by NXT as Carmella’s face broke and she lost the Mandy Rose countout. It’s ok Mela, just dye your hair in a brunette in 2 weeks and it will magically heal like Mandy!
Sami Zain def.Dominik Mysterio
Rey Mysterio needs to stop appearing in Dominic games. He is an unlucky talisman at this point.
Behind the scenes, WWE continues what looks like an “angry black woman” story with Naomi. Naomi is fined and malicious just to stand up for herself.
Bianca Bereal’s Homecoming Celebration
Bianca Bereal wore orange wisely in this segment.
Mayor Kane got a great free press by handing the city keys to Bianca Bereal. This was a huge synergistic effect of WWE.
Becky Lynch’s obstruction to Rocky Top may have been worse than Minoru Suzuki’s interruption of music.
A few days after Tony Khan, WWE leaned into the nerd’s wrath by putting a baby face in his hometown. Tap your back For AEW to win local heroes (except Leyla Hirsch).
