In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through Madhya Pradesh‘s Jabalpur city, a woman stands accused of brutally killing her two-year-old niece after the child’s incessant crying thwarted her sleep. The ghastly episode transpired in the Rajiv Nagar locality, falling under the jurisdiction of Hanumantal Police Station, on Monday. Authorities swiftly apprehended the alleged perpetrator, an official reported.
According to Officer M Dwivedi, in-charge of Hanumantal Police Station, the victim was the daughter of one Mohammed Shakeel. She mysteriously disappeared during the afternoon hours, leading to frantic searches by family members. After their efforts yielded no results, they turned to the police for assistance.
The initial review of CCTV footage from the vicinity provided no leads concerning the missing child’s whereabouts. As a result, a meticulous search operation was initiated within her father’s residence. To their shock and dismay, the lifeless body of the toddler was discovered concealed beneath a sofa set.

Officer Dwivedi explained that Shakeel and his brothers all resided in the same house. On that fateful Monday afternoon, the victim had ventured into her paternal aunt’s room. After sharing a meal together, the young child was asked to return to her mother, as her aunt sought some much-needed rest.
However, when the child adamantly refused to leave, the accused resorted to violence, slapping the innocent toddler. The infant’s persistent cries incited anger within her aunt, ultimately leading to a horrifying act. The aunt strangled the two-year-old to death before concealing the tiny lifeless body beneath the sofa.
The alleged perpetrator is now in police custody and faces charges of murder, as confirmed by the police officer. This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing frustrations and stress in a non-violent manner, especially when it concerns the safety and well-being of our loved ones.
